One of my first jobs while working at comparenow.com was to write UI copy for their auto insurance quoting engine. I also provided copy for help text and error text.
If you go through the process on the current version of the website, comparenow.com’s user experience is a little flat. It’s still a work in progress, but in regards to my work on the project I was responsible for identifying the fields users needed to fill out in order to receive a quote for car insurance. I also wrote error text that would identify any problem that might arise from incorrectly filled or non-validated data fields.
Additionally, I later went through and created help text that offered a more detailed explanation about the information being requested in each section. This help text would also define terminology with which the user may not be familiar. The current version of the site has removed this help text, but I have it on good authority that it is being re-implemented in an upcoming version.
